FINALLY!! The 1st ever “SHECKY’S LI JING PARADISE HUNTER VOTER PRIZE LUCKY DRAWING” was successfully completed at Shecky’s Manhattan office in NYC! The winners were drawn by Mr. Chris Hoffman, CEO of Shecky’s (sheckys.com) and Miss Li Jing (cultureli.com), a top 40 semi finalist at Paradisehunter.com TV host contest, from hundreds of voters collected from facebook, twitter and email. Shecky’s originally sponsored two voter prize with each to be drawn in semi final and final. However, due to the overwhelming support Li Jing has received from the public and media, Shecky’s has generously agreed to add two more prizes and increased the grand prize value for the first drawing.
Shecky’s CEO, nightlife visionary Chris Hoffman said, “Shecky’s is all about social media, fun, adventure and women power and Li is the perfect example of our brand. Coming from China to chase her dream to be a TV host in her second language, it is not only inspiring but also represents the international theme that Shecky’s is interested in exploring in the future. China is very important market and culture in the world and Li has connected Shecky’s with this huge community through media and her savvy social media skills.”
Li’s TV experience at NBC, CBS and top Chinese media, her bi lingual/cultural background in China and America and her impressively made video garnered lots of attention and an overwhelming amount of support. She received 12,261 votes from voters around the world in the preliminary voting, her voting link was posted on facebook by more than 1500 people and her youtube video has been watched for more than 6723 times in a few weeks.
Celebrities such as international pianist Lang Lang, NBC legendary anchor Chuck Scarborough, TV star Prince Lorenzo Borghese, Model/Entrepreneur Melania Trump, Emmy winning ABC reporter Bob Woodruff and NY TV host/reporter Howard Thompson and Ornella Fado all sent their congratulations or voted for her.
Li’s story was covered by major Chinese and American media such as the front page of the largest Chinese website in North America Sina.com and the largest Chinese TV in NY, sinovision and major Chinese newspaper such as China Press and World Journal.
Li said she is very grateful for the support she received. She said, “I have never thought I could one day be voted top 3 in America out of hundreds to be a TV host in my second language! It just shows that if you have a passion and don’t give up, you WILL reach your dream! This contest is an a testment of that dream. It has changed my life! I am so thankful to meet amazing friends from around the world, and received many offers from jobs, production deals, spokes model opportunity and was even invited to talk on an Australian radio show by Keith Keller!”
The semi final voting will end on Dec 15. People can vote once a day. Top 5 voted along with 5 other selected will enter final interview and screen test stage. Final winner will be announced early 2011 to start a journey of a lifetime. The winner will travel to 12 paradise locations in the world to host the Paradise Hunter TV show with a salary of $60,000 and a property of $150,000.
