Bumped into American Idol star Katharine McPhee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katharine_McPhee) at ABC today! She is so pretty and told me she was on Regis & Kelly show today-She has a new album out ” Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You” on October 12, 2010. She is definitley a beautiful girl next door and tall! Then I went to pick out a dress from my lovely talented friend, celebrity designer Zang Toi (houseoftoi.com) for tomorrow’s charity event to raise money for homeless by mapc.com.  Zang is so into helping those in need that I was deeply touched. Great dress, great people, great cause!

Alexander McQueen died at 40. I couldn’t believe it when I heard it on the radio today. It’s so sad for someone to die at such a young age, especially someone with an amazing talent and career. Unconfirmed reports say it’s suicide-even more shocking and you wonder why if so? Why would someone so young with an amazing career would choose to end it once and for all?

I have long admired McQueen’s style-just like his label’s name: very queen, luxury, vibrant, free and daring!

Life is funny, you learned surprising facts about someone when they die. A perfect image is quite often created and not perfect at all. That’s why you see those “shocking” news about Tiger Woods, John Edwards and Bill Clinton.  It’s not really shocking, only the news to the public.

Being in the celebrity world and on the limelight myself, I understand how the image could be created through media, the light, camera, makeup, hair and stories true or untrue. Behind the scene, a lot of things are surprising. Everyone has struggles but people don’t like to share struggles, especially that struggle or problem is related to their image, because ultimately that’s related to income and career.

However, death is different, it’s final and no turning back or second chance. That’s why it’s sad. Maybe he could have been saved if someone talked to him, brutally honest? Asked him some hard questions? I have enormous respect for people who can do that—because it really can save lives.

I hope Alexander or by his birth first name, Lee McQueen find peace and happiness wherever he is now.   To learn more about this talented yet controversial designer, click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_McQueen

Yesterday was a NON STOP 22 hour day and I had so much fun! After working overnight at WNBC, 2 meetings at work, I jumped into a limo to meet one of my favorite celebrities who invited me for a “event”. I can’t wait to tell you but need to keep it zipped for now =) I promise to share with you this AMAZING experience once available!  Now you can catch a glimpse of the whole thing, still fun and I loved the VIP treat and MY HAIR! (Which style do you like better?  would love to know)

Then in 2 hours, I went back to midtown for Korean American Association of Greater New York 50th anniversary gala at Marriott in Times Square. A thousand people attended including Gov. Paterson, John Liu and Senator Charles Schumer. Here are my “3 most memorables” from the event

1 Unbelievably both Gov. Paterson and Senator Schumer said John Liu was Korean, by mistake! I was very surprised as others wondering, wow how well do they really know each other? That prompted John Liu jokingly claimed, “according to the Governor and the Senator, I am Korean today!”  He handled it very well.

P.S. John Liu is the first Asian elected to the City Office in NYC, a fellow cappricorn and our birthdays are only 10 days apart =) He is a perfect example of hardworking high achiever cap!

2 I LOVE my table mates as you see in the picture. Both are in insurance. One told me some very interesting observations of Asian cultures such as how his business with Chinese insurance community grew from 0 to a major part of his business now. He said his Chinese clients never bounced a check while others did throughout over years. He said China is the DREAM market for everyone now..I was hugely impressed by his understanding of the culture!

3 The dinner was actually…not KOREAN! It was funny but I loved this bread like appetizer where it was clam and corn soup inside—I don’t know the name but it was creative and delicious and “American.”

Going home at 11p was a perfect ending of my non stop 22 hour day! Happy belated B DAY KGGANY! Thank you Matthew Yang and Yong Hwa Ha, President of KGGANY for inviting me.
