Confessions of An Alpha Wife

Thanks to all your kind and interesting responses to my Tyra appearance and on dating deal breakers!  Relationship takes work and nurturing which I realized after going through it myself and from my friends. People always told me, it should be easy for you because you have the look, the brain, everything and you just pick. But it is not like that.  A relationship is a partnership, caring for each other (not just one person) and a shared goal and life view, someone you can trust and grow together. My parents have been married for 30+yrs and they went through little money and serious illness together.  That’s the relationship I admire. You are there for each other. I want a partner and want to be a partner like that. It takes work because of my career and schedule but I know it’s possible. Even friendship needs time and effort!

So in the modern world, when women take on more important roles in career, how should they handle the limited time and nurture a relationship?  I look at Oprah and Tyra, they are successful, smart and not married. Is that what it takes to have a great career? I don’t think so but it does take hard work.  A good friend once told me, a marriage is just the beginning of a relationship.  This article from Janice Min told quite a great story on a modern career woman’s relationship.

How do you feel about this alpha wife relationship? Would you like to be one or be with one?
